Fostering creativity, self-esteem, and social confidence through the performing arts.
Artbarn Community Theater is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) performing arts program for youth from pre-school through high school.
At Artbarn, performers of every age are active participants in all aspects of the production experience. They develop on-stage skills in acting, singing, and dancing, and also work behind the scenes on story development and script creation as well as scenery, props, and costume design and construction. Our High School internship program allows alumni the opportunity to earn community service hours while they gain valuable teaching and mentorship experience.
The Artbarn program offers a unique integration of theater arts training and social skills development. Attention to each actor’s experience throughout the production process is a primary concern. Establishing a culture of collaboration within each production troupe is the preliminary task. We believe that when young people feel confident taking the risk to perform in front of an audience, they learn and grow. Their own sense of accomplishment — plus the public acknowledgment they receive — will empower them in other aspects of their lives.
Artbarn stands apart as a performing arts program whose primary goal is to nurture creativity, social confidence, and a sense of self within a group.
