In-person classes for actors in Grades 5 & 6

Winter Session 2021
/ 10 weeks

January 18 – March 22
Limit: 10 actors per section (with 1 instructor)
Registration opens Wednesday, January 6

IMPROV! The ancient and highly intellectual art of making stuff up. Learn the fundamentals of creating improvised theater, how to be a great scene partner…and there may even be some jokes, you never know! Skills learned in this class will help students as performers, but also as learners, friends, and citizens of the world. Through the work of improv, we have an opportunity to be creative, confident and playful, but also to learn how to accept ‘mistakes’ as they come and turn them into gifts.

This class meets IN-PERSON at our Church Of Our Saviour Rehearsal Venue (25 Monmouth Street).
Note – due to the ever changing nature of the COVID-19 pandemic, this class may be moved to online instruction at any time.

 A: Meets from 3.00pm – 4.00pm
 B: Meets from 4.15pm – 5.15pm

*This is a skill-building, class-based program with no performance component.

Artbarn’s in-person classes are held in a large, indoor space with air filtration systems that meet or exceed the Brookline Public Schools’ indoor ventilation benchmark for their Hybrid Learning Plan. Our class size is limited to allow appropriate social distancing, and all students and staff are required to wear a face mask for the duration of class. Additionally, all participants must complete an online wellness check before coming to class each week.

At Artbarn, the health and safety of our actors and staff is our highest priority. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns about our space or our safety measures.
