Rehearsals & Classes (Spring and Summer 2022)

Due to the increase in COVID-19 cases, the Town of Brookline is reinstating a mask requirement in all town-owned buildings (including all PSB schools and offices) effective Monday, May 23. This requirement applies to all individuals regardless of their vaccination status.

Artbarn will be following this guidance and, until further notice, requiring masks for all actors and staff at our rehearsals and classes.

Thank you for supporting our commitment to keeping our Artbarn family safe and healthy.

Plans for safe & healthy Artbarn programs:

  • Masks are required for all actors and staff (effective May 23, 2022)

  • All participants age 5 & up are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or take a rapid test prior to each rehearsal or class. (Effective for spring 2022 programs)

  • All participants and staff will be encouraged to wash their hands and use hand sanitizer frequently throughout the rehearsal day.

  • Rehearsal activities will be designed to minimize contact and maximize social distancing to the extent possible.

  • Any participant or staff member showing symptoms of COVID-19 will be isolated while arrangements are made for them to leave rehearsal.

  • In accordance with CDC guidelines: any actor, intern, or staff member who tests positive for COVID-19 (regardless of their vaccination status), may only return to Artbarn after a 5 day isolation period and provided that (a) they have not had a fever or used a fever-reducing medication in the last 24 hours, (b) their symptoms are improving, and (c) they have not been instructed to continue isolating by a doctor or school health official.

  • Note – the Artbarn staff and interns are all fully vaccinated.

We will continue to monitor the recommendations of the CDC, the Department of Public Health, and the Town of Brookline and will adjust the structure of our programs as necessary to adhere to current guidelines and regulations.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions or concerns about our safety measures.

Performances (Spring 2022)

We are thrilled to be welcoming live audiences back to Artbarn! For all performances audience members must adhere to the following safety measures:

  • Pursuant to a Town of Brookline Department of Public Health Order, all people entering the performance space must wear approved masks regardless of vaccination status.

  • All audience members age 5 and over will be required to provide proof of full vaccination (a physical vaccination card, a photograph of the card, or a digital record stored on a phone or electronic device).

  • No food or drink is allowed in the performance space, and we will not be selling concessions this season.

  • We request that audience members stay home if they are experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 or have been in close contact with a person diagnosed with COVID-19. In such cases, we are happy to offer a refund.

  • Those who do not follow these policies will be denied entry or asked to leave the performance space and will not receive a refund.

  • Note – the Artbarn staff, interns, and volunteers are all fully vaccinated.
